Bre’s visit

Ever wanted to know about the people who visit the Museum? Here’s a sneak peak at a visitor from June.

On 18 June, we were honoured with a visit by Bre Francis who was on a week-long holiday touring the south east of the state.

Bre had called into the Visitor Information Centre in Naracoorte, and having an interest in fire fighting and the timber industry, she was provided with brochures for the Forestry Museum at Nangwarry as well as the SAVFFM.

Bre is a third generation fire fighter. Her grandfather, Donald Francis, was a founding member of the EFS/CFS.

Born in 1991, Bre joined CFS cadets at age 16 in Aldinga Beach. Now Bre is with the McLaren Vale Brigade and has a lot of experience at many incidents, some fires, some road crash rescues and assists whereever required. She tells us that she has not attended any major incidents as yet. Bre encourages and trains the younger members of the team in correct technique and skills to enhance their journey.

Bre is a fountain of knowledge and has many stories to share with those that wish to listen.

Bre was blown away by her experience and visit at the SAVFFM and is looking forward to making a special trip with her father in the not too distant future to have a look.

We look forward to having Bre back! Thanks for the visit and the chat!
