Annual memorial service to remember the fallen

Saturday 9 April saw the annual memorial service to remember the fallen of our CFS family. The memorial service had special significance this year as a plaque was added to the wall for Louise Hincks of the Happy Valley Brigade, who passed away while fighting the Coles fire in January.

This year witnessed the largest gathering for the memorial service so far. Visitors came from all over South Australia and interstate, including brigade members, family and friends from Eden Hills and Happy Valley who had a closer connection with Louise. Cadets from Happy Valley were invited to form the honour guard and lower the flags to half-mast.

You can find more photos from the memorial service on the SA Volunteer Fire Fighters’ Museum Facebook page.

Following the memorial service, the AGM of the SA Volunteer Fire Fighters’ Museum was held. After the AGM, members of the SA Volunteer Firefighters Museum were treated to a display of intricate woodwork models by David Flintoff.
